Aston Villa, West Ham United, Fulham and Brentford are all in the picture for AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Villans had shown interest in the striker in the last window but were forced to end that after he suffered an injury, and the setback has had an impact on his valuation.

However, the 26-year-old hasn’t lost his appeal in England with Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Brentford said to be keeping close tabs on his situation.

It’s said these four Premier League sides are ‘still vigilant and determined to obtain new information’ about the former Chelsea man.

The report says José Mourinho’s side have a desire to sell the England international to a Premier League club. Apart from Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Brentford, Calciomercato.it state the Blues shouldn’t be overlooked.

The Serie A side have already signed Romelu Lukaku on loan from the west London club in the last window and their dream would be to carry out a swap deal involving Abraham and the Belgium international.

Abraham, who came up through the ranks of Chelsea’s academy, spent five years with their first team before he joined Roma in a permanent transfer in 2021.

On September 29th, we covered claims from Germany that Maximilian Beier has caught the attention of Everton and they are ready to battle it out with Brentford to sign the TSG Hoffenheim star.

For the past two years, the striker was on loan at Hannover 96 and since returning to the Bundesliga side, he’s impressed for them, managing six goals and an assist from eight league games.

This has not gone unnoticed as Bild state Everton and Brentford are in the picture for the 21-year-old.

The report says the Germany U21 international has a release clause in his current deal that expires in 2025 but the details of the clause aren’t mentioned.

Bild say the player and his agent, Maik Barthel, had a meeting with Hoffenheim managing director Alexander Rosen on Tuesday. They add the latter achieved a ‘real coup’ by agreeing with the star to renew his deal until 2027.

Everton and Brentford have looked at the frontman while Liverpool have also scouted him.

The Premier League sides hovering over Beier has seen Rosen act quickly to extend his contract, also because the current release clause makes it interesting for the likes of the Toffees and the Bees.

Bild reporter Christian Falk took to X, formerly Twitter, to add that Brentford and Everton have shown ‘concrete interest’ in Beier. The renewal would make it difficult for the Premier League sides to take him away from Hoffenheim.

RB Salzburg midfielder Mads Bidstrup has admitted he decided to leave Brentford this summer as he didn’t have the same feelings he does with the Austrian club.

The 22-year-old has been speaking to Fan.at after arriving in the summer in a €6m deal from Brentford.

The youngster had been with the Bees since August 2020 when he joined Brentford’s B side from RB Leipzig’s U19s but never managed to establish himself in London, managing just 14 appearances in all competitions.

He spent last season on loan away from the club, joining Nordsjaelland on loan in January 2022 before returning in June this year.

The decision was then made for him to depart on a permanent basis this summer, with him electing to make the move to Austria on a permanent basis.

He’s been a regular for them so far, making 13 appearances in all competitions to date and fully justifying his decision to leave Brentford in the process.

Not that he believes there needs to be any justification as he’s more than happy with what’s happened, admitting it’s all a case of feelings.

“People who deal with football know that this club is something special, that special things are happening here,” he said.

“The most important thing was to play an important role within the team. I had this desire before, but I did not have this desire in Leipzig and Brentford.

“At Nordsjaelland I noticed that I needed exactly that and thereby become a better player. In Salzburg, people were convinced that I could play a special role.”

As Brentford beat Burnley 3-0 at the weekend, Bryan Mbeumo stood out with a goal and an assist in that match.

The winger has now scored six times for the Bees in the Premier League this season, and may be about to have his best year for the club.

Mbeumo’s form at Brentford is today highlighted in his home country. But as Actu Cameroun writes about his recent performances, they also throw in a bit of criticism because of recent international performances.

The outlet highlights that despite ‘shining’ with the Bees, the winger has been having ‘ghostly matches’ for Cameroon.

They refer to the games against Russia and Senegal, which they lost, and he didn’t find any goals or assists. In 11 caps for his country, the player has two goals.

So Mbeumo may have all the good reasons to celebrate a great start to the season with Brentford, but knows he has some pressure from his home country to do better for them.

The Bees are back in action next weekend, as they visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Fiorentina were right to block Brentford’s bids for Nico Gonzalez this summer, as he could be worth much more in future.

That’s according to his former agent Rafael Stancanelli, who has confirmed Brentford have now made two offers to sign the forward.

Gonzalez was again linked with a move to the Bees at the end of the summer transfer window, with Thomas Frank’s side willing to pay as much as €40m to secure his signature.

They’ve been left short up front this season thanks to a suspension for Ivan Toney, who cannot play until January after being found guilty of breaking betting rules.

Brentford have reacted well to his absence so far, but with the likes of Bryan Mbuemo and Kevin Schade being employed in a more central role to cover Toney’s absence, Gonzalez would have arrived to strengthen the wings.

A deal never happened as Fiorentina held out and rejected Brentford’s bids, preferring to keep the player and not weaken themselves at the end of the window in return for a big sum of money.

That was the correct decision according to his former agent, who believes the player’s value could be even higher in future.

“It’s no longer a secret that Brentford had made two important offers, the last one worth €40m,” he said.

“Commisso wanted to lock him up. For me it was the right move, Nico doesn’t yet have an exact price because we still have to see his full potential.”

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford were among the clubs to be credited with an interest in RC Lens’ Kevin Danso in the last window, according to L’Equipe.

The centre-back was at Reading and MK Dons’ academy before joining FC Augsburg’s youth team in 2014, and returned to England when Southampton took him on loan during the 2019/20 season.

Wolves and Brentford, along with Napoli, looked at the 25-year-old but a deal didn’t take shape in the summer.

The Austria international played the full 90 minutes in his side’s 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Champions League tie on Tuesday.

Prior to the tie, L’Equipe had a chat with him, where he discussed various topics, including whether he considered changing clubs in the last window. This is when the outlet points out Wolves and Brentford’s interest.

“As I was coming out of a great season, a lot of clubs were interested [including Wolves and Brentford in England] but for me, the next step is to go to a Champions League club and play it with Lens. So, I didn’t really have a reason to leave, unless it was really the club you can’t refuse,” he said.

Apart from the Premier League duo, Danso confirmed Napoli had also shown keen interest in acquiring his signature.

Two months ago, the defender signed a new contract until 2027 but that hasn’t stopped him from dreaming of playing in the Premier League.

“Yes of course! [dream to play in the Premier League] When you’re young and in England, you only think about the Premier LeagueThat was it, Barcelona, Real or Bayern, given my origins. And if I could have, for one of my brothers, it would have been Arsenal (laughing)! He even always wanted me to support them, even though I was a United fan like my big brother,” Danso explained.

Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken appears to have missed his big chance to establish himself with the Netherlands, at least according to journalist Valentijn Driessen.

He’s been discussing the goalkeeper situation for the Netherlands this week, with Flekken one of several players currently competing to be number one under Ronald Koeman.

The Brentford goalkeeper appeared to have won the battle against the likes of Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen when he was handed the starting role for the last international break.

That saw him handed starts in the 3-0 win against Greece and then the 2-1 win over Ireland, but he failed to really impress in either game.

The latter in particular saw him look shaky throughout the game, with one mistake leading to the corner which resulted in Ireland’s goal.

That means debate continues to rage about who should be the Netherlands number one moving forwards, with a growing belief that Koeman may go with someone else and drop the Brentford number one.

Driessen certainly thinks so, criticising the goalkeeper in his latest comments on the matter ahead of the next international break.

“He looked unsure for ninety minutes and blundered by playing in Frenkie de Jong under pressure. His loss of ball led to a corner kick from which the Irish scored,” he said.

Monaco defender Vanderson has revealed he was ready to join Brentford earlier in his career, before deciding the Ligue 1 side were better for his prospects.

The 22-year-old has been speaking to L’Equipe regarding his career so far, which started in Brazil and saw him move to Ligue 1 in January 2022.

The youngster started his career with Gremio and was a regular there before a surprise relegation at the Brazilian club forced him to look elsewhere.

He had suitors across Europe, as is usually the case for highly rated Brazilian youngsters, with several Premier League sides showing an interest in him.

One of those were Brentford, who have become adept at scooping up talent and developing it themselves over the last few years.

That has certainly been the case since Thomas Frank’s arrival, with him helping to develop a long list of players in undoubted Premier League quality.

Vanderson could have been a part of that ever-expanding list, providing competition to Aaron Hickey and Mads Roerslev in the right-back spot.

It seems he was keen on the move too, before ultimately deciding that he fancied a move to Monaco over Brentford.

“After the relegation of Grêmio (his training club) to Serie B, I knew I was going to leave,” he said.

“The club and my parents spoke with Brentford. We said yes, but Monaco intervened with a more interesting, more ambitious project, for me and for Grêmio too.

“So, we opted for ASM, a club where young people can express themselves.”

Everton and Brentford are in the picture for TSG Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier, according to a report from Germany.

Having spent the last two years on loan at Hannover 96, the striker returned to his parent club in the summer and has impressed for them this season, managing four goals and an assist from five league games.

The 20-year-old’s fine displays for the Bundesliga side have ‘aroused interest’ from both Everton and Brentford, according to Bild.

This update was provided by Bild journalist Christian Falk, and Liga Insider have relayed the additional information provided by him through a video.

New Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann could include the frontman in his squad for the international break in October, which would see his profile rise.

Beier’s current deal expires in 2025 and Bild state it includes a €20m release clause. The price quoted here would be affordable for Sean Dyche’s side and the Bees but it could be early for them to take any steps for a potential deal in January.

Hoffenheim, for their part, want to fend off the interest from the Premier League duo by offering a long-term contract to their star.

Operating across the attacking line, Beier managed 15 goals and seven assists from 68 games for Hannover. It remains to be seen if Everton, Brentford or another club will try to activate his clause in the winter market.

Neither Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken or Brighton and Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen should be the number one for the Netherlands.

That’s according to analyst Johan Derksen, who is less than impressed by both players and believes Sparta Rotterdam’s Nick Olij should be Ronald Koeman’s first pick.

Anyone who has been following the Dutch national team in the last few months will be well aware of the battle between the Brentford and Brighton goalkeepers to establish themselves as number one for their country.

Both players are convinced that they should be in charge, with the Brighton man even coming out and insisting he doesn’t need babysitting despite his youth.

That didn’t appear to make a difference during the last international break when the Brentford goalkeeper was the man chosen for the clashes with Greece and Ireland.

Those games appeared to have established him ahead of his Premier League counterpart, but Derksen isn’t having that, and admits if he were in charge, neither the Brentford nor Brighton stoppers would be in between the sticks.

“(Olij is) actually the best goalkeeper at the moment,” he said.

“Every ball that goes in has a shelf life. Our friend at Brentford was hopeless, and our other friend at Brighton was even worse.”
