Manchester United, Aston Villa and Southampton are among the clubs keeping close tabs on Brøndby IF star Nicolai Vallys, according to Ekstra Bladet.

The attacking midfielder has impressed this season, scoring seven goals and registering one assist from 11 games. On Sunday, he starred by netting the winner in his side’s 2-1 victory over FC Nordsjælland.

Vallys’ performances have caught the attention of several clubs, including Manchester United, Aston Villa and Southampton.

It’s claimed the Premier League duo, the Saints, VfL Wolfsburg, Real Betis, Marseille and PSV Eindhoven all had officials in attendance yesterday to watch the 27-year-old live in action against Nordsjælland.

Among these clubs, the report states PSV had sent their chief scout to take a closer look at the Denmark international and others.

When describing his latest performance, Ekstra Bladet say Vallys showcased his qualities to the scouts who were in attendance and he’s the ‘epitome of football intelligence at a high level.’

The Dane’s deal lasts until 2026 and Brøndby manager Jesper Sørensen has admitted that he’s not surprised other clubs have set their sights on him.

“I don’t go about my day worrying about whether we can keep Vallys. But if there is someone else who thinks Vallys is more talented than us, then I can really understand that,” he said.

Despite the likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa and Southampton watching Vallys, the newspaper questions if many big clubs would ‘put large sums of millions’ on the table for a player who turned 27 years of age in September.

Earlier this month, Moussa Djenepo’s spell at Southampton came to an end when he returned to Standard Liège on a permanent transfer.

On Thursday, Le Soir reported the winger was ‘terribly unhappy’ at St Mary’s and took a pay cut to join the Jupiler Pro League side.

Southampton took the 25-year-old in 2019 and he’s now insisted the time with Saints has helped him in his career development. His comments are relayed by today’s Het Belang van Limburg.

“I learned a lot during those four seasons at Southampton. I’ve mainly become more mature. I now know that I must always remain professional and keep my cool,” he said.

At Southampton, Djenepo was used on both wings, as a wing-back and even as a left-back on a few occasions. He managed five goals and five assists from 91 games for the Saints.

The Mali international has also revealed he had his heart set on returning to Standard after they first made contact.

“I don’t see my return here as a step back. From the first contact made this summer, I knew that I wanted to play football here again,” Djenepo explained.

The versatile player spent two years, between 2017 and 2019, at the club previously, where he played alongside Zinho Vanheusden during the 2018/19 season.

Vanheusden, who has also returned to Standard on loan, played a key role in convincing Djenepo over the summer move.

“I’m very happy that I can play football for Standard again,” he added.

“When I came here for the first time, it felt like coming home. Standard are more than an ordinary club to me, this feels like family. I noticed this, for example, in the messages I received from Arnaud [Bodart] and Zinho. They convinced me to return here.”

Southampton were one of the clubs to be credited with an interest in KRC Genk star Joseph Paintsil this summer.

Last month, claims from Belgium talked about a swap deal involving the 25-year-old and Paul Onuachu but the operation never took shape because the Ghana international wasn’t keen on joining the Saints.

This claim is now confirmed by Dimitri De Condé during an interview with Het Belang van Limburg, and the Genk technical director admitted he knew from the beginning the swap deal involving Paintsil and the Southampton player wasn’t possible.

De Condé is also not pleased with the manner in which the Championship side approached to sign the winger.

“I immediately knew that it would be almost impossible to involve Paintsil in an exchange deal with Onuachu,” he said.

“But Southampton kept pushing until they went a step too far for me. We should put Paintsil under pressure: push him towards Southampton, for example by not taking him on the plane to Adana. Sorry, but I’m only there for that.”

“Joseph had indicated in several conversations that he feels good here and doesn’t see Southampton as the next step in his career.”

Southampton’s failure to sign Paintsil had an impact on the Jupiler Pro League side’s efforts to sign Onuachu, and this has not pleased De Condé.

The 29-year-old Nigerian, who left Genk for the English club in January, was keen on returning to his former club. The newspaper states Russell Martin’s side kept on changing their demands to let go of Onuachu.

“I especially think it’s terrible for Paul, who is going through a very difficult period. But it became clear to us three days before the European deadline that we had to switch gears. We had different options, but of course the other targets didn’t just talk to us. Others were no longer allowed to leave,” De Condé explained.

Latest claims from Turkey have stated Trabzonspor are trying to sign the Southampton striker.

On Wednesday, Fanatik reported Trabzonspor have made contact to sign Southampton’s Paul Onuachu.

There was also belief the deal to take the striker to Turkey, where the transfer window is open until September 15th, could go through this week.

Sabah now state the next few hours could be key in the Süper Lig side’s efforts to secure the Southampton player’s services.

The Turkish club have shifted their focus on the 29-year-old after Dinamo Zagreb striker Bruno Petković refused to join them.

It’s claimed the Nigeria international was ‘top of the list as an alternative’ and Trabzonspor have managed to convince him for the transfer.

The report further explains they have ‘taken a significant step forward’ in the negotiations with the Saints and the former Genk star is requesting the Championship side to let go of him and do him a ‘favour’.

Sabah don’t mention if Trabzonspor are working to sign Onuachu on a permanent transfer or a loan deal, although the aforementioned Fanatik report stated it would be a loan.

Having arrived at St Mary’s in January, the frontman has not yet managed to score a goal from 12 appearances and is now keen to leave Southampton.

On Thursday, Sky Deutschland reported Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap has reached a verbal agreement with Borussia Dortmund and the two clubs are working to sort out the details of the operation.

The Bundesliga side have been aiming to sign the defender on loan with an option to buy but the deal is ‘now off’.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who took to Twitter to explain the reasons.

He claims Southampton want to include an obligation while BVB wanted only an option to buy as part of the deal to sign the Germany international.

In addition to this, the Saints’ ‘asking price was too expensive’ [loan fee plus obligation to buy] for the German club, which is why the deal is ‘now off’.

Plettenberg, through another tweet, states Southampton’s delay to provide an answer, plus the €15m BVB invested to sign Niclas Füllkrug from Werder Bremen on Thursday, are other reasons why the deal to take Bella-Kotchap to Dortmund won’t take shape.

The 21-year-old has an opportunity to join Bayern Munich as the Sky journalist reported yesterday that the Bavarian club are in contact with Southampton.

Two days ago, Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger reported Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are battling against each other to sign Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap. Berger also stated the defender wants a move away from St Mary’s before the window closes.

The 21-year-old favours a move to BVB amid claims the Bundesliga winners are also chasing him.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who state the Southampton player has reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Dortmund for his transfer.

It’s claimed Edin Terzić’s side are looking to sign the centre-back on loan with an option to buy, but there’s no mention of any figures in the report.

Sky say Dortmund and Russell Martin’s side are ‘still working’ to sort out the details of the transfer involving the Germany international.

The player made 26 appearances for the English club last season, when they were relegated from the Premier League.

Last summer, Southampton signed Bella-Kotchap from VfL Bochum and he could return to Germany, if an agreement can be sorted out between the Saints and Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Sky state Bayern are currently focusing on signing Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah to bolster their defence.

Back in June, we relayed news from Germany that RB Leipzig identified Southampton star Armel Bella-Kotchap as one of the targets to bolster their defence.

The 21-year-old is also on the agenda of both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who state the two Bundesliga giants are set for a battle to sign the Southampton player.

Bella-Kotchap swapped VfL Bochum for the Saints last summer and his fine displays has helped him make debut for Germany in September 2022.

The centre-back has a contract until 2026 and could leave the English club this summer after they were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Sky state the defender is on the Bavarian club’s target list and have asked about him as they try and plan a future without Benjamin Pavard.

BVB are also in the picture to sign the Southampton star and have been dealing with this case for a long time. It’s said Dortmund are ‘pushing’ to sign Bella-Kotchap on a loan deal but the two parties have not yet found an agreement.

It’ll be interesting to see where the Germany international will play beyond this month, as he could be on the verge of taking a big step forward in his career.

Brentford, Leeds United and Southampton are among the clubs in the race for Granada star Myrto Uzuni, according to Saturday’s AS.

The 28-year-old left Ferencváros for the La Liga side in January 2022 and has starred for them. Operating mainly as a left winger and a striker last season, he scored 23 goals and registered five assists from 39 games.

Uzuni’s fine form helped Granada achieve promotion to the top flight and also caught the attention of several clubs, including Brentford, Leeds and Southampton.

Along with Thomas Frank’s side and the Championship duo, the report states Galatasaray, Stade de Reims and an unnamed Saudi club have registered interest in Uzuni.

The Albania international has a contract until 2026, which includes a €25m release clause.

AS state Granada are not willing to listen to any offers and are refusing to negotiate his sale. It’s claimed the clubs that are interested in securing Uzuni’s services would have to trigger his clause.

Brentford, Leeds and Southampton have registered their interest in the player and there’s nothing to indicate if any of them are willing to pay €25m to sign the Albanian.

Earlier this week, Kicker reported Southampton’s Nathan Tella could be set for a surprise move to the Bundesliga after Bayer Leverkusen identified him as a target.

The 24-year-old was on loan at Burnley last season, where he managed 19 goals and five assists. He’s not keen to continue in the Championship.

That’s according to the latest report from Kicker, who state Bayer Leverkusen’s deal to sign the Southampton winger is ‘getting hotter’.

That’s because Tella has ‘now decided’ to make a switch to Germany despite attracting interest from the Premier League. It’s down to the two clubs to find an agreement for the transfer to take shape, which hasn’t happened so far.

On Friday, claims from England mentioned Xabi Alonso’s side making a €18m bid. This is relayed by Kicker, who then provide their own take on this case.

It’s said the difference between the fee proposed by Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton’s demand is ‘not insurmountable’.

Leverkusen have set a ‘pain limit’ to secure Tella’s services and Kicker question whether their limit will be enough to convince the English club to part ways with the attacker.

Meanwhile, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg claims Leverkusen have a ‘verbal agreement’ with the player.

He adds the German club want to pay around €16-18m in fixed fee while Southampton want €25-30m. The ‘negotiations [are] ongoing’ between the two clubs.

On Tuesday, we covered claims from Belgium that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Southampton for Roméo Lavia’s transfer.

It was also stated he has been in London since the weekend to complete a move to the Bridge, waiting for the two clubs to sort out the last details of the operation.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to Twitter to explain the midfielder returned to Belgium on Monday after finding an agreement with Chelsea.

He was waiting for the Blues to sort out the final details of the agreement with Southampton yesterday. That seems to have been resolved as Tavolieri claims the 19-year-old is set to fly from Brussels to London at 10am (11am Brussels time) today.

The journalist states the Belgium international will have his Chelsea medical today and then sign a contract before his move to Stamford Bridge is made official.

Chelsea have already completed Moisés Caicedo’s signing and with Lavia’s addition, Mauricio Pochettino will have more quality options in midfield.

Earlier today, Tavolieri explained Liverpool’s dithering convinced the player to snub them in favour of a move to Chelsea.
